A wonderful antique silver brooch featuring a paste hare with a silver tortoise drop bringing Aesop's fable, The Tortoise & The Hare to life in jewellery form!

Both the tortoise and hare are set with sparkling paste stones with lovely little details within each piece.

Each piece is marked with the silver grade '925' and what looks to be a little plant pot mark.

During research I was able to find an identical brooch created by German jewellers Knoll & Pregizer however this piece has no sign of a KP mark anywhere so it remains a slight mystery.

It was possibly made by KP to be distributed under a different company name but this is just a guess. The tortoise is also engraved with the date '3/08'.

There is some age related discolouration to some of the clear paste stones. The brooch remains in good antique condition overall.
