Marfa Stance is proud to present a special edition collaboration with Mickalene Thomas.

Together with Founder Georgia Dant, they have reimagined the iconic Marfa Stance Rain Coat and Hood in a limited run, crafted using hand selected surplus materials that have special meaning to Mickalane.

Mickalene Thomas is an award-winning international, multi-hyphenate disciplinary artist whose work has yielded instantly recognisable and widely celebrated aesthetic languages within contemporary visual culture.

Her practice, rooted in collage, informs the unique patchworked design of this piece, blending artistic expression with Marfa Stance's modular ethos. We curated and collaged the surplus materials together, to create a collaboration of both our values and aesthetics with a common sense of responsibility and craftsmanship.

Each piece is complete with its own individually numbered tag, signed by Mickalene Thomas.

Meshing practical performance seamlessly with style, our take on a classic bonded raincoat is anything but traditional. Fully reversible, with taped seams, and welded patchworked surplus material panels, the raincoat can be worn alone as a water-resistant shell or can be layered over quilts and liners from our collection to create a winter coat. Reverse to the single colour side to experience two very different coats in one.

Personalise your style and make it modular. Add a hood for extra protection against the elements, add a collar for both style and for function, or layer a Quilt or a liner underneath for added warmth during the colder seasons.
