Cardinale's Oratori Sabroso is a captivating and vibrant sculpture that blends the sacred and the everyday, drawing inspiration from the concept of a descanso roadside prayer sculpture — a space of reflection and personal connection that pays devotional homage to the passing. This sculpture evokes the warm, sensory richness of life, inviting the viewer into a space where faith, culture, and nourishment converge. Crafted from painted pine and a variety of found objects, the natural grain of the pine subtly emerges through the layers of paint, creating a harmonious balance between the organic and the artistic. Inside the hinged entryway, the artist creates a simple, sacred space with the focal point being a collection of found objects that tell a unique and personal story. A small, wooden figurine delicately painted in soft earth tones stands in front of a makeshift altar made from pieces of reclaimed wood.
